TexasBarBooks Online Receives Technology Award

TexasBarBooks Online received the Association for Continuing Legal Education (ACLEA) Award of Outstanding Achievement in the Technology category for the Texas Probate System Online.

ACLEA is a professional organization for continuing legal education providers, including publications. Members represent more than 300 such organizations from around the world. ACLEA’s Best Awards are issued each year in the categories of Programming, Marketing, Publications, and Technology. Award entries are evaluated for their innovation, design, execution, success in the marketplace, and cost-effectiveness. The award was formally presented to website manager Conor Jensen at the ACLEA Annual Meeting in Chicago on July 30.

TexasBarBooks Online was a technological innovation launched in 2015 that solved a problem for many customers. The web application, which charges a monthly or annual fee for access to the same content that’s published as hard-copy or downloadable practice manuals, offers attorneys and their support staff several advantages: Subscribers do not have to become owners of the book and pay the whole cost up front, they can access their materials through a browser on any device, and they can download fresh forms one by one, on demand, rather than having to store the hundreds of forms locally on a limited number of computers.

Launched in February 2019, the Texas Probate System Online posed unique challenges in terms of presenting the material in the form of a web application. In response to the challenges, the TexasBarBooks staff and Texas Probate System author committee developed user features to structure a cohesive and dynamic workflow around the many complexities and long timelines around managing an estate.

TexasBarBooks is excited and honored to have won this award, and we look forward to improving on and building more great products in the future!
