Texas Bar TV has posted a recording of “Lyndon Johnson and the Civil Rights Act: A Remembrance,” the 2014 Bench Bar Breakfast Keynote panel at this year’s Annual Meeting.

The panel features LBJ’s daughter Lynda Johnson Robb and Larry Temple, Austin attorney and former special counsel to LBJ. Author-attorney Talmage Boston serves as moderator.

The session begins with the recording of a riveting phone conversation between Martin Luther King, Jr. and LBJ shortly after the Kennedy assassination. From there, Boston gives the two panelists, very much witnesses of American history, an opportunity to reflect and share their insights regarding LBJ and the passage of the Civil Rights Act 50 years ago.

Please enjoy this historically informative and still relevant discussion of “the bill of the century.”

This is the way former U.S. Deputy attorney general Jamie Gorelick describes those who are ready to “embrace the change” when it comes to integrating the great technology rush into their law practice.
